At the age of seven, I was was kidnapped by cultists, followers of the Circle of Thorns, who tried to use me as the sacrificial victim in a ritual to open a portal to a demonic realm. Though I was saved by heroes in the nick of time, I saw through the portal and gazed upon the evil that was waiting on the other side to gobble up little girls like me. I dedicated myself to studying the occult and gathered all the knowledge I could to fight those who would use the powers of magic for evil. I have studied with some of the most prominent occult experts around, and am constantly seeking ways to weaken the forces of darkness, especially the Circle of Thorns. I am a dealer in "rare books and antiquities" through my shop, The Nightingale Bookery, which helps me to keep abreast of odd artifacts or tomes that surface on the market.
